Backend Engineer – Transactions (d/f/m)

We are looking for a Backend Engineer (d/f/m). In this role you will directly contribute to our services and improve the experience of millions of users and drive, monitor and learn with your team. You will be part of a motivated cross-functional team including members from the areas of Product, Customer Service, Marketing, Analytics and Engineering. This is your opportunity to have an impact by defining the first time experience of our users buying or selling with our transactional features.

What you’ll do

• Responsible for developing, releasing, monitoring in production

• Work together with Product and Design to develop the future of Kleinanzeigen

• Keep the platform clean, stable and scalable

• Handle up to 60k requests per second while the platform is still growing

• Drive your own ideas for code and process improvements

• Ensure quality and maintainability by improving build and test systems

Who you are

• Experienced in Java and the Spring Framework, 3 years or more 

• Passionate for writing clean code and an eye for simplicity and pragmatism

• Interested in learning and programming in Golang

• You have a hood know-how in object-oriented design

• Experienced with Continuous Delivery

• Experienced with RDBMS and/or NoSQL (e.g. Cassandra, MySQL)

• Believer in collaboration and a DevOps mindset

• Ability to mentor others
